FROM PAVED BIKE PATHS TO ACROBATIC TRAILS

Running is many things. It can serve many purposes. It can take place in many locations.
Maybe you're used to running certain places, similar to each other, perhaps even the same route, week after week, the same surface, the same view. Out the front door, onto the bike path, and then 'around the round.' And if that works well for you, no one says you need to change it.
If, on the other hand, you begin to find your runs monotonous or trivial or feel that your runs are becoming a chore, it might be time to consider taking your running in a new direction. Both literally in terms of a new route, and metaphorically: Could trail running be something for you? If you'd like to learn how to get started with trail running, we have great inspiration in the form of articles.

PUT ON YOUR WOMEN'S TRAIL SHOES - TAKE YOUR RUNNING NEW PLACES

If you need a fresh perspective, varying surfaces, and something new for your eyes, trail running might just be what can revive your running experience. Or at least provide a distraction in how you think and experience running,
Here's where the trail shoe comes into play. Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or just got the urge to add new dimensions to your run with new terrain and techniques, women's trail shoes are your essential remedy. Road running shoes can thus be greatly substituted with a shoe targeted for trail running to offer the best experience. An experience that running is many things.
If interested, you can watch our videos on starting a new discipline. Here, Malte is guided and taught by trail expert Simon Grimstrup in a form of trail school. Quickly, you'll be gently introduced to the trail universe and receive helpful tips, for instance, on trying out this type of running, how your line of sight and focus should be, and how your cadence affects your running positively. You can find four different lessons - the link below refers you to part 1, outlining how to become a better trail runner.
You can easily find the subsequent sections under our inspiration tab.

STAND FIRM WITH YOUR WOMEN'S TRAIL SHOE - AVOID FALLS

Specifically, women's trail shoes become essential if you switch from the bike path to a challenging trail. Or even if you replace asphalt with a gravel path through the woods. Women's trail shoes are indeed indispensable when you venture into trail running. Regular running shoes will quickly fall short in these environments. You'll experience limitations and, unfortunately, also a higher risk of injury as the surface demands more from the shoe's grip.
It's about being able to stand firm on the surface, both uphill and during descents, encouraging you to maintain a certain speed, even though the surface feels uncertain or directly challenging. This experience is what your trail shoe provides with its excellent and secure grip designed for the different terrain.

TRAIL SHOES FOR HIKING OR RUNNING

A women's trail shoe can be used for both running and walking in challenging and hilly terrain. If you're not up for or can't run in the exciting terrain, you can certainly use a pair of trail shoes for walking. Trail shoes for hiking are definitely a thing. You might also need to walk your future running route a number of times before it feels right to cover the same route running. There's comfort in knowing the path before you suddenly come rushing over loose stones, under wildly hanging branches, up and down slopes, and quickly around sharp turns. On a trail path, you can never fully prepare. It doesn't necessarily look the same from one time to the next. It's not polished and flat like most bike paths but can offer unpredictabilities such as branches on the ground, roots, loose stones, or slippery mud. But that's also precisely what can make your run more immersive and sensing in the moment. That can take you away from the more monotonous bike path and breathe more life and variety into your running experience.
Use your women's trail shoe for hiking or enjoy your trail shoe in speed on the trail path.

NARROW, WINDING, AND MUDDY FOREST TRAILS?

Do you think trail running always happens on narrow, winding, and muddy forest trails? The answer is no. Trail running is many things and occurs in many forms. From very wide and flat gravel paths in the woods to more technically demanding trail tracks, which offer various surprises and demand a high degree of attention, technique, and practice. But actually, just 80% of your route needs to be on something other than asphalt before you can call it trail running. Thus, it's also established that trail running can be many things and the challenges graded.
No matter what, we can't ignore that much changes when running from the bike path along the roadside moves out into the woods. Not just the sounds and your view and overall sensory apparatus. Also, your surface, appearing more undefined and unpredictable - naturally to varying degrees.
Whether the surface is characterized by mud and large irregularities or is more describable as a regular gravel road, women's trail shoes come into their own.

TECHNICAL FEATURES REQUIRE GOOD TRAIL SHOES AND PRACTICE

It's almost obvious that the more demanding a trail run's terrain is, the greater the demands on your trail shoe. Both in terms of grip, protection, and stability. A technical track in hilly terrain, which may also offer wet, slippery, and muddy elements, needs to stand firm, protect your feet, and ensure as best as possible that you don't twist an ankle.

Grip:

The grip on a trail shoe refers to the part of the shoe that makes direct contact with the surface. Here, it matters that your trail shoe for hiking or trail running can stand firm. The knobs under the shoe can vary in shape and millimeters.

Protection:

During a trail run, it's not unusual for your trail shoe to come into close contact with stones, branches, roots, and other natural obstacles on the path. The shoe itself has to withstand this, but the shoe should also ideally be a kind of comfortable defensive shield for your feet. The durability of the upper also matters.

Stability:

If you run in very challenging terrain such as rock pieces and loose stones, where it can be difficult to stand firm, it's advantageous for your trail shoe to provide good stability.

If you're curious about trail shoes' capabilities and performance in demanding terrain, we recommend you read Max` and Lars` review - and watch their video - about two different trail shoes from Saucony. Here, you get a good sense of what different trail shoes can mean for the running experience. This knowledge can be transferred to other trail shoes when you read about these and have to make one or more choices.
