is likely placed in the category of running shoes with the most development in recent years - besides race shoes. Naturally, we are talking about max-cushioned running shoes. When you see ZoomX on the midsole, you automatically want to zoom in on the shoe. Often, it leads to something great. So that's exactly what we'll do now, zoom in on Invincible 3, and hopefully enlighten you on what makes this shoe so invincible.
has a futuristic and boxy look. Personally, I love it, and it's also a shoe I enjoy for casual walks. But today, let's focus back on the running aspect.
Originally, ZoomX foam was intended for Nike's race-day models, but now these premium foams are often seen on volume training shoes across brands. It's been a game changer for runners, extending runs and in some cases, runners' running lives. Let's take a closer look at the midsole.

Nike Invincible 3 - ZoomX
No expense spared here. A full 40mm of ZoomX in the heel and 31mm in the forefoot. Enough to make any max-cushioned fan drool. My runs in Invincible 3 have been on easy days, where the shoe shines. 40mm ZoomX, and 9mm drop is ideal for easy runs, to rejuvenate legs after speedy days. ZoomX is known for top energy return, seen in both and , which have set world records across distances, but in Invincible 3, I find it a more bouncy and forgiving material, also great for long Sunday runs.
Nike Invincible 3 - Boxy design, intentional?
Earlier, I mentioned the shoe's boxy look, some might call it chunky. Not without reason - previous Invincible models tended to be slightly unstable due to soft foam, and Nike has addressed this by making the shoe's platform wide, and it works. Nike Invincible 3 is a stable running shoe, suitable for those usually seeking stability shoes (pronation).
3 is a shoe that makes you want to run an extra kilometer, hence you wear it down quickly. Rubber along the outsole extends its lifespan, but adds weight too.
Nike Invincible 3 - Attractive upper, but effective?
The upper is made of Flyknit material, adding stability with the wide platform. I might miss a bit more comfort in parts of the upper, but it gets the job done, and once miles start rolling, I hardly notice it. However, the upper is a bit stiff, so if there's anything to critique, it's that.
Nike Invincible 3 - Is it truly invincible?
I have a soft spot for max-cushioned shoes, so Nike Invincible 3 has been a welcome addition to my rotation. High midsoles don't always mean high comfort, but they do in Invincible 3. It's immensely comfy - bouncy rather than energy-packed, a shoe that assists, but doesn't push you forward at all costs.
Expect a running shoe with a very comfy and stable feel, with a midsole that makes running enjoyable. Not a light volume trainer that transports you into flow-state, but a stable companion you can depend on.
