Test: Nike Structure Plus - Stability meets superfoam

Can soft superfoam be combined with stable support? Nike Structure Plus unites the two worlds and delivers a stability shoe with impressive comfort.

Nike has divided their running shoes into clear categories to make it easier to choose the right shoe. Pegasus is the versatile, neutral training shoe, Vomero stands for maximum comfort and softness, while Structure is made for those who need extra support.

Nike Structure Plus is launched as an upgrade to the classic model. It stands out by combining stability with a softer and more energetic feel. It's quite exciting, as we haven't seen Nike's superfoam ZoomX implemented in a stability shoe this way before. But how does the combination of superfoam and support actually feel in practice?

From everyday use to training camp

I've run quite a bit in Structure 26, even though I usually don't need shoes with extra focus on stability. That's why I was also excited about the feel of the new Structure Plus. I started by just putting them on and walking around. Here, they felt both supportive and flexible – exactly the balance runners seeking stability often look for. The shoe provides a secure feeling around the foot while allowing free and natural movement.

This versatility makes the shoe ideal for everyday use and long days on your feet. In fact, I traveled to a training camp in the shoe, as it was both comfortable and allowed me to bring an extra pair of training shoes on the trip.

A Structure with ZoomX: Comfort and stability

My first run was on a treadmill, and it was clear that the shoe is designed to provide support without feeling heavy or overly controlling. This is where the ZoomX foam plays a key role. Normally, ZoomX is very lively, which can challenge stability, but Nike has addressed this by using a wide platform and high sidewalls. This offers the well-known softness from the super-foam, but wrapped in a frame that provides stability.

The shoe is more comfort-oriented than the classic Structure model and is aimed at runners who want stability but still seek a natural and flexible running experience. I also ran strides in the shoe, reinforcing the sense of both flexibility and stability. The experience is different from my personal favorite, Vomero Plus . In Structure Plus, the soft bounce effect is toned down in favor of a more firm and secure ride.

A brilliant companion for tired legs

After testing it, I see Structure Plus as the ideal shoe for days when your legs are a bit heavy. If you have tired legs after a tough session, or just need a short jog where you want to feel secure, it's brilliant.

Nike Structure Plus is for those who want support – on the run, at work, or in daily life – but also want a shoe that offers flexibility and a good sense of the ground. It's perfect for easy runs where you need a bit of extra support without compromising on comfort or natural movement.

In short, Nike proves here that stability doesn't have to be boring. With Structure Plus, you get the necessary support wrapped in a comfortable and energetic experience.
