The Garmin Forerunner 45 series comes in two different sizes with identical functions. 

Forerunner 45 is available in Forerunner 45 (42 mm in diameter) and Forerunner 45S (39 mm in diameter).

The new watches in the Forerunner 45 series are round and operated with 5 buttons instead of 4 buttons (FR 35), making it more user-friendly and intuitive to navigate through the watch menus.

 The Forerunner 45 is unisex and fits almost any wrist.

Garmin Coach has a new feature that allows you to download free training programs from professional trainers directly from Garmin Connect to the watch. 

Garmin Coach has training programs for everyone regardless of level. It is based on your goals that you want to achieve. 

The Garmin Coach programs guide you through all your running steps, step by step, so you know exactly what to do. 

SAFETY AND TRACKING FUNCTIONS 

The Forerunner 45 series features accident detection and assistance alarms that automatically notify friends and family if, for example you are cycling, or need to call for help by sharing your location. 

Note: LiveTrack requires that you have your smartphone connected and that it is connected to the watch via Bluetooth. 

SATELLITE CONNECTIONS 

The Garmin Forerunner 45 series offers in addition to the enabled GPS, the GLONASS and Galileo satellite connection, which helps with the accuracy of measurement of speed and routes in forests and urban areas. 

By default, GPS is enabled by outdoor sports profiles, however GLONASS and Galileo must be manually activated for each sporting activity. 

STRESS REGISTRATION 

The Garmin Forerunner 245 series indicates how stressed the body is on a scale of 1-100 based on pulse variations.  

BODY BATTERY 

Body Battery is a feature that constantly relays the body's energy level on a scale of 1-100 in real time. 

The Body Battery figure is calculated based on the stress level, the pattern of sleep and the amount of recovery and physical activity. Body Battery is a feature that gathers all the data from the different measurements and gives a total score of how healthy the body is around the clock. 

BODY AGE 

Body Age estimates your body's age by VO2-max estimation, which the clock constantly collects and processes the data from physical activity. 

BATTERY LIFE 

Forerunner 45 Series has a slightly improved battery life compared to its predecessor (Forerunner 35) but you must consider the fact that the Forerunner 45 series has a bigger screen, color display, more data management, and is physically smaller. 

Forerunner 45 and Forerunner 45S provide up to 13 hours of battery life with the GPS signal for running and cycling.

GPS mode: Up to 13 hours 

Note that the battery life is slightly reduced with GLONASS and Galileo satellite connection turned on. 

GARMIN CONNECT 

Garmin Connect is Garmin's online universe for both computer and smartphone, where all the data is gathered in the cloud, and all activity such as sleep, steps, physical activity is gathered in a logical way.
