OVER-EAR HEADPHONES – FIND THEM AT RUNNINGXPERT

At RunningXpert, you can freely choose from different headphone variants. Over-ear headphones are one of our options, with various choices within the category. They can differ on several parameters. Their common feature is that they – as the name suggests – lay over the ears and enclose them.
At RunningXpert, we offer over-ear headphones from various manufacturers, at different price ranges, and in diverse designs. With over-ear headphones, your ears are fully covered. The soft ear cushions envelop the entire ear, ensuring comfort and sound quality.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OVER-EAR HEADPHONES AND OTHER TYPES?

RunningXpert has an accessories category that includes headphones. This category has four subcategories, each addressing different types of headphones. Each has its pros and cons and can be purchased based on needs and usage situations.
Over-ear headphones: These resemble on-ear in appearance, but the main difference is the ear cushion size. Over-ear headphones typically have larger, more enveloping cushions. The ear is entirely encircled and held securely by a headband over the head.

On-ear headphones:

On-ear can have comfortable and soft cushions, but they only rest on the ear and don’t enclose it like over-ear headphones.

In-ear headphones:

Our in-ear subcategory includes headphones that fit inside the ear canal. They are compact but can feel less comfortable for extended wear. Available with or without cords.

Open-ear headphones:

This type has a neckband and earbuds that rest near the ear canal but don’t go inside. The design is open, and our OpenRun Pro version uses the latest bone conduction technology for a unique listening experience.

OVER-EAR HEADPHONES – BUY THEM AT RUNNINGXPERT

At RunningXpert, we have great options for over-ear headphones. Take our BOOM by Miiego, for instance. These over-ear headphones have a sleek design, suitable for leisure and running. They come with two sets of ear cushions, easily interchangeable. Use the regular ones in the study hall, but when heading home in running shoes, switch to the sports cushions, which are washable. They twist off easily, just a quarter turn, making the switch neither difficult nor time-consuming. Sound, comfort, and design harmonize in this pair. A great choice for both leisure and sport, if you ask us. Includes cleaning cloth and various cables.

PROS AND CONS OF OVER-EAR HEADPHONES

As with much other running gear, preference is individual. Different situations may ideally require a specific set of headphones. We sell headphones for running, but most likely, people use them in other contexts too. Whether for running and sports, enjoying a movie on a train, in work settings, cycling with an audiobook, or finding peace in a study hall.

Our headphones offer various advantages for different scenarios, though they may have weaknesses in certain contexts. Over-ear headphones tend to enclose, blocking external sounds. Ideal for sound immersion or excluding outside noise.

If running and needing traffic awareness, you might feel too isolated with noise-cancelling over-ear headphones. Conversely, in the study hall, you might want to block all external noise, feeling secure in your sound bubble. Each version has pros and cons in specific contexts.

Finding the most optimal for your main purpose is key. You know best. We hope you find the right product among our selection, guides, tests, and inspiration articles, whether over-ear or another subcategory.
