REFLECTIVE VEST OR HEADLAMP FOR TRAIL RUNNING?

Are there situations where a reflective vest might be less suitable? One might think it’s always good to be well-protected in the dark with many reflectors. The more, the better. 
However, if you run in the forest with others wearing headlamps, your reflective vest might glow too brightly when their headlamp lights hit your running vest, which can disturb and spoil the night vision for your fellow runners. 
In the forest and with others, a headlamp is typically a better choice than a reflective vest. However, the path to and from the forest may still require a reflective vest and plenty of lights. A solution could be to switch between a running jacket and a reflective vest, wearing the jacket on the outside in the forest.
