Overview of the best running shoes from adidas, the global German brand known for the three stripes.

adidas is among the top producers of shoes and sports gear. It all began in the German town of Herzogenaurach in 1924 under the name Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik, when brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler started making sports shoes.

A family fallout in 1947 separated the brothers, with Rudolf Dassler founding PUMA, while Adolf Dassler established adidas a year later. Today, both companies have their headquarters in Herzogenaurach, where Adolf and Rudolf have their roots.

Since then, adidas has grown into one of the world's largest brands.

In recent years, adidas has taken running shoe development to new heights.
