What’s New in the Asics GEL-Nimbus 26
Midsole
The introduction of the innovative FFBlast+ ECO foam rendered the GEL-Nimbus 25 softer than its predecessors. Reactions were mixed—some found it too soft, while others felt it could be softer. Such is the nature of new shoe releases, particularly when they feature notable changes. If you enjoyed the plush feel of the GEL-Nimbus 25, you'll be pleased to know the midsole maintains its softness, complemented by slight geometric tweaks. The stack height, GEL, and foam composition remain unchanged, ensuring the familiar sensation fans love. However, Asics has reserved the more substantial design overhauls for other shoe components.
Upper
Perhaps the most notable modification has been made to the upper, which now features a more breathable engineered knit material. This update preserves the comfort known from the previous version but introduces minor alterations to the overall fit—details to be shared in our forthcoming full review. The Asics GEL-Nimbus 26 promises enhanced breathability, making it an excellent choice for warmer climates.
Outsole
The outsole has transformed as well. From afar, it still looks like the same AHAR (Acics High Abration Rubber), but it now incorporates a softer, more grippy HYBRID ASICSGRIP rubber—technology borrowed from their trail models. Combined with a slightly more aggressive outsole pattern, Asics aims to improve traction, particularly in unfavorable weather conditions.
