REVIEW: Infinity Massage Gun – massage gun in amazing quality at a great price

I have tested the Infinity Massage Gun, which is a massage gun that can reduce pain in the muscles and increase the blood circulation. Read the complete review here.

The Infinity Massage Gun is a multifunctional massage gun to help you relax your muscles and increase the blood circulation, which help towards your recovery and general well-being. The Infinity Massage Gun is practical, versatile, and, in my opinion, the best for the price in its category! Here follows my review

HOW DOES THE INFINITY MASSAGE GUN HELP TOWARDS YOUR RECOVERY?

Massage guns have become widely popular ever since the first versions were launched back in 2008.

A massage gun is believed to have lots of the same benefits as a deep tissue massage, but in contrast to visiting the masseuse, the Infinity Massage Gun can give you a massage where and when it is convenient for you. It is less time consuming than scheduling a time at the masseuse and is more affordable in the long run.

Treatment with a massage gun is not merely about massaging the sore muscles after a work-out. There are several health benefits by using the massage gun regularly – whether you are training or not.

Some of the benefits of using a massage gun are:

- injury prevention

- speeds up recovery

- pain relief

- reduces lactic acid

- increases blood and lymph circulation

- activates the nervous system and the muscles

- relieves muscle cramps and stiffness

- reduces scar tissue

- increases freedom of movement

The above are just some of the benefits of using a massage gun. The benefits may not necessarily be felt after one single use occasionally. I have started a routine where I massage my sore muscles 3-4 times a week about 20-30 minutes at a time.

TESTING THE INFINITY MASSAGE GUN

My first impression of the Infinity Massage Gun was really good! The massage gun has a nice and stylish design and fits well in the hand due to the silicone coating, which provides for a great, firm grip

With a weight of 908 grams (without the massage head), the Infinity Massage Gun is a bit lighter than the popular Theragun Pro and Flowlife Flowgun massage guns. However, it feels heavier than it looks – and that is a positive! You really get the feeling that the weight of the product is due to the powerful motor and the similar robust holster. The Infinity Massage Gun is ideal because it is heavy enough to apply pressure on the muscle while being light enough to comfortably hold during the massage of e.g. the underarm or the foot.

You can use the Infinity Massage Gun before and after your work-out.

I have, mainly, used the Infinity Massage Gun for my thighs, calf muscles, and shoulder, as these are the muscles I activate the most and the muscles that are the easiest for me to massage. So far, I have not successfully managed to massage my back or lower back – HOWEVER! – if you have someone to help you, it is an easy task and makes it more comfortable when you can simply relax while others do the work for you!

INCREDIBLY VERSATILE MASSAGE TOOL

I have benefited a lot from massaging my muscles before my work-out in order to activate them as a pre-warm-up.

Especially on the days where I feel tired and fatigue in my body, the Infinity Massage Gun can be invigorating. The vibrations of the massage head activate the muscles and have, personally, had the effect of being performance-enhancing, compared to a work-out without using the massage gun.

In relation to my running, I get the best effect from massaging my thighs and calf muscles on the days in-between where I do not train intensively or do not train at all. This way my muscles are never completely inactive, which is normally a common cause for muscle stiffness and sore muscles.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A massage gun can, in theory, be used by anyone and is, therefore, an easy way to take your recovery into your own hands – also on the go. If you have not tried a massage gun before, I recommend you start with low speed and massage a muscle group that is easily accessible for you. This way you get the best feeling of what a massage gun is and the muscles you wish to massage.

The key to a successful recovery and treatment with the Infinity Massage Gun is to massage the muscles regularly. You cannot expect miracles after a single use of the Infinity Massage Gun – or any other massage gun for that matter.

The goal is to move the massage gun over the muscle in slow movements and different directions. You cannot really do anything wrong, as only you can feel what is working and what is not.

If you, like me, have had tense muscles over a longer period, it only takes a couple of sessions with the massage gun to loosen up the muscles. I have experienced that once my sore muscles have loosened up again, I only need to massage them a little bit more frequently in order to keep the flexibility and movement.

Does it hurt? That depends on the speed you use and how tight your muscles are. You are in control of how much pressure you apply to the muscle and how intense the massage gets.

The clear benefit of the Infinity Massage Gun is without a doubt the targeted treatment and how it allows you to focus on a specific muscle, compared to other tools like a massage pillow or foam roller.

NOISE LEVEL AND BATTERY LIFE

Infinity Massage Gun is very pleasant when it comes to noise and only makes a small hum (from the vibrations) rather than an actual sound. I have tested the noise level of the Infinity Massage Gun by measuring the decibel level. The Infinity Massage Gun, on average, measures around 75 decibel, which is a great result considering that the least noisy massage guns have a decibel level around 70. Some may think this is a small detail, but I appreciate the fact you can enjoy the television while massaging and without being a nuisance to others around you. If you ask me, it is important that the massage gun does not clink, scratch, or rattle when you are using it. It all makes the experience of using the massage gun more pleasant and allows you to do other activities at the same time.

Bottom left: Flowlife Flowgun, battery life: up to 6 hours. Bottom right: Theragun Pro, battery life: 2.5 hours. At the top: Infinity Massage Gun, battery life: 8 hours.

The Infinity Massage Gun is less noisy than the Theragun Pro and around the same noise level as the Flowlife Flowgun.

The Infinity Massage Gun has a battery life of up to 8 hours depending on the level of speed you are using. I have used every speed and I have not had any issues, as I rarely massage more than 20-30 minutes at a time. Further, I prefer the low to medium speed in order to not make the massage too intense – of course, that also means the battery lasts longer.

INFINITY MASSAGE GUN OVERVIEW

The Infinity Massage Gun has 5 speeds that are all measured on the percussions per minute. It can deliver up to 3,300 percussions per minute, which should be more than enough for the majority.

You decide the intensity of the massage by picking the speed and the massage head.

If you prefer a soft wellness massage, you should opt for the low speeds, as they deliver a small intense massage, compared to the high speeds. Personally, I only think the high speeds are bearable on the bigger muscle groups like the calf muscles, as the smaller muscle groups are too close to the bone. However, this is luckily being accommodated for!

When you buy the Infinity Massage Gun, you also get 6 different massage heads. Each massage head is designed for different parts of the body:

The A-shaped head is primarily used to relax joints and local pains, like shin splints. I prefer to use the A-shaped massage head on the area between the calf muscle and the shin, as the head is pointy and soft with a very small surface and, as a result, will not knock against the shinbone.

The D-shaped head is ideal for massaging the muscles around the backbone and requires two to get the full potential of the massage.

Both the A and D-shaped heads are also ideal for massaging the inside of the foot.

The T-shaped head – MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE! – is the most versatile of all the massage heads. It can be used for all muscles in the body and does not hit the muscle uncomfortably, as the massage head is flat. I use the T-shaped massage head for both the calf muscle and the thigh muscle on the days I am very sore, while the ball-shaped head can get a tad too tough.

The Y-shaped head is great for relaxing the muscles on each side of the backbone and for massaging the upper arm, underarm, and calf.

The ball-shaped head is probably the most commercially known massage head. It is significantly bigger than the other massage heads and can, therefore, cover a greater surface. The ball-shaped head is particularly good for massaging bigger muscle groups, like the thighs and glutes.

The air plugger is the only massage head that is designed for massaging the bones. It can be used on all of the bones of the body. I would suggest using this massage head with care – in other words, use it at a very low speed.

THE VERDICT OF THE EXPERTS

At the same time with this test, I have asked my colleagues to also test the Infinity Massage Gun. If you need examples on how and where to use the Infinity Massage Gun, then take a look here:

Camilla: "My favourite spot to use the Infinity Massage Gun is on the lower back. After a pregnancy, my back and lower back are not as strong anymore, so I do get sore quite easily in my lower back after running. 10 minutes with the Infinity Massage Gun helps A LOT. It loosens up and leaves me fresh and ready for my next run!"

Jacob: "To me, the Infinity Massage Gun is a great tool to loosen up my muscles after an intense work-out. Once in a while I get big muscle tensions in my calf muscles – so they are treated to a session with the Infinity Massage Gun, which makes them very sore but the day after they are all fresh and ready for running again! With the number of kilometres, I manage to rack up during the week, I cannot really live without it.”

Jesper: "I love the Infinity Massage Gun! I use it to massage my sore muscles after a tough work-out. But I use it just as much to “prepare” my legs before a run. If I have fatigued legs from previous workouts, the Infinity Massage Gun can ‘wake up’ your muscles and make them ready to run again. Doing this 10 minutes before going out for a run works incredibly well for me."

CONCLUSION

Whether you are an athlete, casual jogger, or get muscle tensions from sitting at the desk, the Infinity Massage Gun is a genius solution if you do not mind taking the massage into your own hands

I am incredibly excited about giving myself targeted massage when and where I need it. It saves me a lot of time and in the long run also money, as I, in theory, do not need to make an appointment with the masseuse.

The design, weight, and, not least, low noise level make the Infinity Massage Gun a product of pure quality. Personally, I prefer to watch the telly or have a conversation while I am using the massage gun, and for this the Infinity Massage Gun is brilliant!

Compared with other massage guns on the market, the Infinity Massage Gun is, in my opinion, a bargain! Sure enough, the Theragun Pro is the best massage gun on the market right now – especially due to the powerful motor and the well thought through ergonomic grip. On the other hand, the Theragun Pro is twice as expensive as the Infinity Massage Gun, and unless you are a true tech geek, you will probably not feel a great difference between the two.

The Infinity Massage Gun has a wide selection of massage heads and different speeds that all fulfil my needs, which is why I personally do not see a reason to invest in a more expensive model.

I think the Infinity Massage Gun is incredibly practical because I can bring it with me everywhere – on holiday, for my work-out or the Summer house. I cannot think of a more versatile massage and recovery tool than a massage gun that can massage the entire body with its accessories and features.
