It can be hard to start running and some times even harder to continue running. That is why we have 5 tips for you down below, which hopefully inspire you to start and continue running.

1.
The most important for a beginner is whether not how fast or how far. It is about getting out there, putting on the running clothes, and getting out the door. In the beginning, nothing else doesn’t matter. If it ends up being 500m or 5km, it doesn’t matter. Start a routine where you get going.
2.
When you get out there, find a route you think is interesting. Is there something exciting to look at? Is the nature pretty? Find out what inspires you. It helps to make your runs/walks more digestible. Especially the days where everything sucks, believe me, they come for everyone, even the best runners.
3.
Find a running partner or a running community. It is always good if you can find a running partner or running community. It makes your run more fun. The most important is that there is more than one you expect to show up, which some times gives the extra push to get out the door. It can furthermore bring new acquaintances and friends if that is what you seek.
4.
Invest in some running gear. It doesn’t have to be expensive, certainly not, but find some clothes and a great pair of shoes, and maybe a running watch/GPS-watch. It inspires and motivates me to start running. And new shoes help you avoid injuries. There are a lot of shoes out there, also non-expensive ones. Read more about how you pick your shoes.
5.
Set yourself a goal. A realistic goal. It can be a race you want to run in the future. It can be a certain number of times you want to run a week. It can be a specific kg of weight you want to lose. There are lots of goals you can set. As long as it is realistic and motivating for you, then the goal can be anything.
