Nike Pegasus 37 has landed – it is improved, inspiring, and an incredible running shoe. Read my hands-on review below.
IT IS HERE – FINALLY
I finally had the chance to put on the new Nike Pegasus 37. I have been waiting like a child at Christmas for this shoe to hit our shop, and now it is here! I have always been a fan of the Nike Pegasus running shoe – both in terms of the design and how it feels to run in. It has always been a loyal companion on the short, long, fast, and slow runs.
Lately, however, there have been plenty of new running shoes released on the market that offer a softer midsole material, which I have grown accustomed to. Therefore, I have lately had the feeling that my old Nike Pegasus models were getting a tad too hard. This has piqued my excitement for the new Nike Pegasus 37 even more, as it is packed with Nike’s awesome React foam in the entire midsole. But more on that in the review – enjoy the read!

Upper: Nike Pegasus 36. Lower: Nike Pegasus 37.
First impressions of the Nike Pegasus 37
By now it is almost a given that a Nike running shoe is going to look good. The same applies to the new Pegasus 37. The Pegasus 36 was beautiful but it has now seen plenty of improvements, which only makes it even more fascinating. New midsole material, new lacing, new and lighter mesh upper, and now the Nike logo on the side of the shoe is standing out. It is a gorgeous shoe, which will only excite you and make you want to take it for a run when you see it. There is nothing like a new and beautiful shoe to fire up the motivation!
Fit and Upper
I want my shoes to have plenty of room for my foot, so preferably not too tight. The Nike Pegasus 37 fits tightly around the foot, which is often a problem for me in the beginning – but the more I run in it, the better it gets. Therefore, it is a shoe that, personally, requires a couple of kilometres to break in, before it finally shows itself from its best side. Shoes on my feet work like a good bottle of wine, which only gets better with ageing!
The upper is an even lighter mesh upper than the one used for the predecessor, the Nike Pegasus 36. It feels very breathable and hugs nicely around the foot and the new lacing system, where FlyWire is replaced by Wide Strips, makes it fit nicely, securely, and snugly on the foot.
The heel cap is softer and made more flexible in the Nike Pegasus 37, compared to the Nike Pegasus 36, which some may find less secure. However, if you are a neutral runner and feel somehow secure when running then you will not notice this.

The Midsole
This is where we find the biggest change in Pegasus 37. The familiar Nike midsole material “Zoom” has been replaced by the soft and amazing “React” foam, which we already know from the Nike Infinity React, the Nike Odyssey React, and the Nike Epic React. It is a pleasure to run with this under the feet. There is also some Air Zoom at the front foot, but this time with some differences between the men’s model and the women’s model.
So, does it work in the new Pegasus 37? – the answer is YES! There is nothing particularly new about using either Air Zoom or React Foam but combined they make a dynamic duo, which transforms the run into a comfortable and quick experience – it has, however, made the shoe a little bit livelier, compared to the predecessor.

How do they feel to run in?
The Pegasus is and always will be a brilliant everyday training shoe. It is a favourite of many – also to me. This new version of the Nike Pegasus is, in my opinion, simply superior to its predecessors. Having React foam in the midsole instead of Zoom makes a huge difference. It is softer but definitely not slower. I have tested it in various training sessions. Interval training, tempo training, and calm runs – no matter the training, it still performs brilliantly. It is slightly close-fitting at the front foot but eventually stretches over time. It has a drop of 10mm, so it is suitable for all runners – both for the fast and the not so fast.
NOW, THERE IS ONLY ONE THING LEFT FOR ME TO DO, AND THAT IS TO WISH YOU A PLEASANT RUN IN YOUR NEW NIKE PEGASUS 37.
