The grip on the Salomon Ultra Glide 2 performs well – we're not talking of a shoe for the mud-drenched, but beyond that, you can expect a grip that can handle it all.

The versatility continues in the midsole. The landing is not always soft and spongy but more on the firm side. The midsole is designed with a really nice rocker, which means that the shoe actually provides a lot of comfort. Furthermore, the firmer landing gives the shoe the opportunity to perform super well even on quite technical trail routes.

The upper is not minimalist but still breathable. My experience of the upper is that you get a pair of shoes that will last a long time - the material seems durable and it is also firm and reliable. The shoe can be laced very tight and I have been comfortable across varied terrain.

I have experienced goop space for the toes in the shoe and will therefore easily see this shoe be used on long distances.
