If you liked the first, you will also enjoy the second. Saucony have made a number of small improvements to Endorphin Shift 2, and they have preserved all the features that worked well in the original Endorphin Shift. If you haven´t tried Endorphin Shift before or you want to read about the changes, please read my review of Saucony Endorphin Shift 2.
Saucony Endorphin Shift 2 is a shoe in the Endorphin-collection which is made for your easy-going, regular runs. Shift 2 is packed with a lot of PWRRUN-foam, so they are very gentle on your legs.
If you are used to a traditional high-mileage training shoe like ADIDAS ULTRABOOST or Saucony Triumph, you will get a very different experience in Endorphin Shift 2.
In addition to the high midsole with lots of foam, Sauconys SpeedRoll-technology will practically make you roll through your gait, which provides a surprisingly light - and perhaps slightly modern - running experience for an otherwise heavy shoe (300gram i EU 42,5).
Surprisingly solid
In spite of the amount of foam (38 mm foam in the heel and 34 mm in the forefoot) you shouldn´t expect an explicitly soft run like in Hoka One One Bondi or in New Balance Fresh Foam More V3. Saucony Endorphin Shift 2 isn´t quite so soft, but it still provides great protection.
In addition to the more modern gait, Endorphin Shift 2 is also the most stable of the running shoes I´ve tried with so much foam. The heel cap keeps the heel completely fixed and as the foam is of the more solid kind, it adds a lot of stability so you don´t need to worry about an unsteady run.
Mesh, ripstop and a bit of rubber

The upper has been slightly changed from the first version. New mesh has been added to most of the upper. In addition Saucony has made a seam along the side of the shoe to cover a kind of ripstop-material. I am not really sure what the effect is. Perhaps it makes the shoe more stable or perhaps water-resistant. In any case, it provides the shoe with a more intense expression and whether you like it or not is a matter of taste.
In spite of the fact that you won´t find a lot of rubber on the outsole, the shoe has a great grip. The rubber is strategically placed, so the shoe isn´t worn too quickly. A lot of the midsole is "unprotected" by rubber on the outsole, but it seems very robust , so it doesn´t get torn when you are running on asphalt or loose gravel.

What can you use the shoes for?
Saucony Endorphin Shift 2 is a high-mileage training shoe but its one of the faster kinds. So, if you are used to running a couple of times a week and you are typically using an ADIDAS Ultraboost or Saucony Triumph, Endorphin Shift 2 would be a great tip for a faster shoe. And if you generally run more and are also used to racing and doing intervals, Saucony Endorphin Shift 2 would also be an excellent tip for a high-mileage training shoe which can easily be used for long runs.
