I tested the On Cloudstratus, On's most cushioned shoe to date. It's perfect for those with wider feet needing support, and it gets full marks for look!

Note: The plate in the shoe is a thermoplastic polymer, injected with other materials (including carbon, as far as we understand). It's somewhat misleading to call it a "carbon plate" in the video. Only On Cloudboom contains a plate primarily made of carbon.
Are you fond of Running's stylish design, great sole, and smart lacing system? You won't be disappointed with . This shoe is for those with a seeking max comfort and good stability on long, easy runs on firm ground.
is a neutral running shoe, but due to its firm heel counter with extra support on the inside and the wide sole providing a stable base, runners with mild to moderate pronation can easily run in it.
Carbon plate and cushioning
The double layer CloudTec® in Cloudstratus makes it the most cushioned in On's lineup; you're not short on comfort here! You might think this would reduce the feel of good energy return. However, with the built-in carbon plate, Speedboard, you gain speed and propulsion in takeoff, while providing stability in lateral movements in the shoe. The Speedboard is flexible lengthwise and completely inflexible across.
Still, if you're expecting the same extreme softness as in shoes like HOKA Bondi and New Balance Fresh Foam More V3, we're not quite at the same level here. With you get comfort and bounce in a more firm shoe.
Wide running shoe with great comfort
For me with a narrow foot, the first impression is it's a bit too wide, but with the smart lacing system, the shoe fits well – once you figure it out! The lacing system is a bit different from what I'm used to in other shoes. Another thing that helped me increase comfort in this shoe was wearing a slightly thicker sock, like a CEP compression ankle sock (click here). It gave me a bit more of the soft feel I want.
Stylish & functional running shoe
chose different materials on the upper, giving the shoe a raw look that fits today's running fashion. It's an exclusive shoe that's both stylish and functional. The characteristic midsole is known for comes in a more squared version here, which in my eyes only enhances the shoe's look.
All in all, On Cloudstratus is a great running shoe for those who want ample room in the shoe and a super comfortable running experience on all your runs.
