Trail running is becoming increasingly popular. More and more people stray off the beaten path, leave the road and set out for countless new trail adventures in nature. On small and narrow trail in uneven terrain, its important to choose the right shoes. If you are looking for a great, durable allround shoe, I would certainly recommend Scott Supertrac RC 2.
Trail running is getting more and more popular and lots of people have discovered the joy of exploring the gorgeous nature instead of the flat road.
You can´t say trail running without also saying Scott Supertrac RC 2. Scott Supertrac RC 2 is a really good and solid allround shoe. The shoe provides a terrific grip, has a tight fit and makes you feel safe in uneven terrain.
I tested Scott Supertrac RC 2 during the last couple of weeks and I have to say that I am a big fan. But to get a second opinion on this shoe, I met up up with Simon Grimstrup who is an experienced trail runner and Everesting world record holder.
Simon ran the same hill 202 times, in total 8848 m, the same distance to reach the top of Mount Everest. He did it in 10 hours, 45 minutes and 14 seconds to set a new world record in Everesting.
And of course Simon set the record in his Scott Supertrac RC 2-shoes.

Simon, please tell me what this shoe can handle?
It handles a lot! If you compare it to a regular road running shoe, it has a completely different grip. If you look at the lugs, they are designed to provide a completely different grip and solid touch with the surface during your landing. Scott have designed a 360 degreee pattern, so you have a solid grip even if you slide to one side or the other.
The shoe is not so high?
No, but this provides you with an improved touch with the surface and it still provides a bit of cushioning.
The Scott Supertrac RC 2 has a 5 mm drop which is not as much as a typical road running shoe.
Another thing I noticed, is the mesh-upper. How would you describe that?
The shoe is designed in water-resistant mesh. And the mesh is worth noticing as it is one of the primary qualities of this shoe. Manufacturers typically aim to make trail shoes light and consequently often use lightweight mesh, which isn´t necessarily very durable. But in this shoe, the mesh is super durable while no compromises have been made in terms of the weight. Its a very durable shoe which I really like.
The midsole is designed in AEROFOAM+, which Scott use for most of their shoes to provide a stable and efficient gait.

In total, its a top-shoe from Scott, which can be used on many different kinds of surfaces. Its a great shoe which I can really recommend.
