Find the right Shock Absorber for you
Shock Absorber has developed various sports bras focusing on comfort, support, and function. The models cover a wide range of needs, whether you prefer a classic fit, maximum freedom of movement, or high support for intensive training.
To provide you with practical and honest feedback, we tested five popular models. The test was conducted by Julie and Solvår. Julie uses size 75A and Solvår 80G. Together, they give insight into how sports bras from Shock Absorber work for women with both smaller and larger busts. Below you can read their experiences with fit, support, and comfort to find the model that suits you best.
Shock Absorber - Ultimate Run Bra
Ultimate Run Bra is one of Shock Absorber's most award-winning models, and for good reason. It is designed to minimize breast movement during running, where strain is often highest. The bra is tested to reduce movement by up to 78% and is constructed with soft fabric against the skin without seams, minimizing chafing and irritation.
It closes with two hook closures at the back. A regular bra closure and one further up between the shoulder blades. The top clasp is a crucial detail that ensures an extra stable fit.
User Experience:
Julie (size 75A):
"Ultimate Run Bra offers fantastic support and fits so closely that I sometimes forget I'm wearing it. The fabric is soft and follows the body without irritation. With my A cup, I struggle to fill out the cups completely. This means the support isn't optimal for me since there are no padded inserts. I personally prefer Ultimate Run Bra Padded, made in the same style but with thicker material and a better fit for smaller breasts."
Solvår (size 80G):
"My first run with the Ultimate Run Bra was mixed. It was a bit hard to put on, and I got red marks under the bust. It felt loose at the sides of the cup, even though the rest fit snugly. On the second run, it was different. The bra was easier to wear and provided good support. I felt secure, and the straps were soft and pleasant. Even when sweating, it kept me warm without getting damp.”
Fit, support, and comfort:
Ultimate Run Bra is true to size in the cup and normal to tight in the band. If you are between two band sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one. It fits snugly initially but gives and becomes morecomfortable after a few workouts. The extra top clasp can be hard to close alone. A good tip is to fasten both clasps before putting the bra over your head. It may make it easier for you. Support is top-notch. The bra sits snugly against the body and effectively holds the chest in place during activity. It feels secure and is clearly designed with running in mind. It's especially suited for women with medium to large busts needing good support. Ultimate Run Bra Padded is similar to the classic Ultimate Run Bra. The difference is the lightly padded cups, providing extra shape, comfort, and support, especially for women with smaller or medium busts. The bra is moisture-wicking and quick-drying thanks to Shock Absorbers Dry Action technology and mesh panels in the back, ensuring good ventilation. The double clasp at the back contributes to the close and stable fit, making it suitable for high-intensity sports. User Experience: Julie (size 75A): "Ultimate Run Bra Padded is my personal favorite. The padded cups make a huge difference for those with smaller busts. I feel much better supported in this model than in the non-padded version. The bra fits snugly without causing discomfort or movement. The fit is excellent, and the material feels soft and pleasant against the skin. The mesh panel at the back provides good ventilation, and the design is stylish and functional. A really good running bra that I feel secure and comfortable in." Solvår (size 80G): "I was a bit skeptical about the padded cups but was pleasantly surprised. The bra provides firm and comfortable support without feeling tight or heavy. The wide straps stay put and don't slip during movement. I use it not only for running but also for tennis and strength training. It's one of my favorites today." Fit, Support, and Comfort: Ultimate Run Bra Padded fits true to size in the cup but may feel tight at first. It quickly molds to the body. If you're between sizes, choose the larger. The top clasp can be difficult to fasten alone, especially at first. It helps to fasten both clasps before putting the bra on. The support is superb. The bra sits snugly and securely against the body, keeping the chest in place even under high load. The padded cups provide good shape and extra support. Active Multisports Support Bra is a versatile sports bra that works for various training activities. The model has two back clasps and adjustable straps for a customized fit. It's made with two layers, with the inner one keeping each breast in place and the outer providing firm hold overall. This ensures the bra stays close and stable during movement. Mesh panels and breathable material provide good ventilation during intense training. User Experience: Julie (size 75A): "When I first saw the model, I thought it looked like a regular crop top and wouldn't offer much support. But I was wrong. The inner layer ensures each breast stays in place, and the outer layer keeps everything close to the body. Together, they provide surprisingly good support. The two closures at the back also help it fit well without being tight. When I run, I experience almost no movement in the chest area. However, I find it hard to fill the cups entirely since the model isn't padded. I'd recommend it for women with a B-cup or larger." Solvår (size 80G): "Active Multisports Support Bra is a personal favorite. It's easy to put on, and I feel well-supported. I especially like that it gathers the bust rather than separating it. The wide, padded straps are comfortable and don't cause marks or irritation. The lower edge could be wider, as my heart rate monitor can be tricky to place. But overall, it's a bra I'll use regularly for my runs." Fit, Support, and Comfort:data-contrast="none">The fit is flexible thanks to adjustable straps and the two closures at the back. The bra fits snugly and follows the body's movements. The extra support from the double layer makes it feel stable and secure. The bra is not padded, and women with a small bust may find that the cups do not fill completely. The support is really good and works for both running and other high-intensity training. The model fits well for women with medium to large busts who seek maximum stability.
Shock Absorber - Active Shaped Support Bra
Active Shaped Support Bra is a padded sports bra that provides both support and a rounder silhouette. It is suitable for many types of training and has adjustable straps and a single hook closure at the back. The fit is reminiscent of a classic bra, making it especially suitable if you prefer a more feminine form. The padded cup makes it ideal for women with smaller busts, but the model works for many sizes.
User Experience:
Julie (size 75A):
"Because I use an A-cup, I often find that sports bras make my bust disappear. But Active Shaped Support Bra has a padded cup, providing both support and fullness. It shapes the breasts nicely and feels comfortable when I run. I especially like the design, which is sleek and feminine. Of all the bras we've tested, this is my favorite."
Solvår (size 80G):
"Active Shaped Support Bra fits really well – it hugs all around, without bothering my heart rate monitor. The support is good, and even though it is padded, my bust didn't get sweaty or sticky during the run. It's a sports bra I will use again and again."
Fit, Support, and Comfort:
This model feels like a classic bra and has only one closure at the back and adjustable straps. It may feel tight at first but adjusts to the body after a few uses. If you are between two sizes in circumference, we recommend choosing the larger one. The padded cup provides good support and a nice, round shape. It suits both smaller and larger cup sizes and works well for both running and strength training. Among the five models we tested, this one seems the most breathable.
Shock Absorber - Infinity Power Bra
Infinity Power Bra is a newer model from Shock Absorber, developed with a focus on providing maximum support without compromising on freedom of movement. The model is created from user feedback and needs. The bra is easily closed with a front zipper.
User Experience:
Julie (size 75A):
"When I first put on the Infinity Power Bra, it felt quite compact and closed. But I was quickly pleasantly surprised by the effective support. During running, it almost feels like I don't have breasts because the bra holds them so well in place. At the same time, I have full mobility in shoulders and arms thanks to the back design. I will especially use it for strength training and primarily recommend it for women with small to medium busts."
Solvår (size 80G):
"Infinity Power Bra is very different in fit from other sports bras. It presses the bust against the body instead of supporting it separately, similar to the feel of a wetsuit. For my bust size, it doesn't provide the desired support, and the bust still moves quite a bit. However, I like the Y-back design, which offers good freedom for arms and shoulders. I will use it for strength training but wouldn't recommend it for running for larger cup sizes."
Fit, Support, and Comfort:
The bra is the tightest of the models in the test and feels small in size. It is easy to put on thanks to the front zipper, and the Y-shape in the back provides good mobility. It fits best for women with smaller busts. Infinity Power Bra provides firm support by keeping the breasts close to the body, limiting movement. At the same time, you get full freedom of movement in the upper body. The material is stronger at the front for increased support, but the back panel is made of light, breathable mesh. It offers a fine balance between support and ventilation.
Overall review of Shock Absorber sports bras
Julie:
"I've tested many sports bras over the years, but Shock Absorber stands out. Particularly in support level. They fit noticeably tighter than many others, which can feel strange at first. But this tight fit keeps everything in place while training. For me, it was an adjustment, but after the first few runs, I felt a difference. Good support requires a snug fit."
Solvår:
"The bras from Shock Absorber are the most supportive I've tried. They are a bit tight at first but adapt quickly. The extra hook closure and well-designed cups offer excellent support for larger busts like mine."
